A Huge Thank You to everyone for Suit Up and Ride 2013

Frank Health Insurance the victorious riders on the storm!

Thank you to everyone who braved the cold and wet and even hail at times to compete in Suit Up and Ride and support young people with mental illness.

Congratulations to the 2013 Suit Up and Ride Champions: Frank Health Insurance who knocked off rivals Qantas Flight Crew and Grocon, who finished in second and third place respectively.

Team times for the heats and finals can be viewed here

This is a wonderful result for Frank Health Insurance who is also a sponsor of Suit Up and Ride. Frank Health Insurance donated the first prize of a framed national suit worn and signed by Cadel Evans. The team generously donated it back to be auctioned online to raise even more money for Orygen Youth Health.

For those who missed the prize ceremony the winners were:

1st Place: Frank Health Insurance

2nd Place: Qantas Flight Crew

3rd Place: Grocon

Best Dressed: The Turi Trust Team

2nd Best Dressed: MMG Team 2

Best suited: Qantas Cabin Crew

Last Place: RUSU Ambassadors

Thank you to our wonderful sponsors: Qantas, MMG, Frank Health Insurance and City of Melbourne. We couldn't do it without you and we appreciate your support.

Thank you to Hydralyte and Subway for hydrating and feeding our participants and volunteers, and Melbourne Bike Share for use of the bikes.

Thank you to our prize donors too: Frank Health Insurance, Maggie Beer, Hydralyte, Winners Bars, Diadora, Nespresso, Fit for All, Six30 Compression Gear, Wingman, Grill'd and Footys 4 All.

And of course to all our teams who donated to participate in the event. Over the four years of the event almost $270,000 has been raised for Orygen Youth Health research projects. These include innovative online e-mental health initiatives, our Family Peer Support program and our vocational recovery programs which help young people to return to school, study or to find work. These are vital funds that have truly made a huge difference to the lives of young people with mental health issues.

Thank you to our special friends Cadel Evans and Matt Goss for taking the time to attend our little event. They are very special champions and we’ll all be cheering in the middle of the night when they take on those Alps in Italy and France again next year.

Thank you to Curtis Sinclair for sharing his inspirational story with us on the day, and also to the most enthusiastic crocodile in the world, Crikey Cadel for venturing all the way from Perth to join us this year.

To our MMG and OYH volunteers...hope you are finally warm and thank you for all your hard work in adverse circumstances. We think you are awesome!

And to Signature Sport and KSJ Events, thanks for a wonderful, smoothly run event.

Photos of the event can be viewed here or on our Facebook page.

That's all for another year of Suit Up and Ride. A safe and happy Christmas to you all.

The Suit Up and Ride Team.

Thank you to all of our generous sponsors...
